Whole Home Remodeling
This 1955 home underwent a complete transformation, from the structural bones
to the finishing mid-century modern aesthetics.
An additional micro bathroom was added to the primary bedroom by transforming a hall closet. A floating vanity and space-saving, European-style toilet with an in-wall tank was installed, adding to the modern look, along with subway tile and brushed brass fixtures.
The hall bathroom was transformed with show-stopping features like a cement shower tile cut in a unique pattern to flow to the original brick wall. A TV stand used for vanity, rather than a traditional set of cabinets. A Kohler medicine cabinet for added for additional functionality.
In the main living space, the kitchen was opened to the living room and made modern with new GE Cafe Line appliances, slab door cabinets, and a unique antler chandelier designed by Brett Beldock. A multi-panel sliding door brings the outdoors in, and natural maple LVP floors provide a contrast to the dark tongue and groove ceiling.
The LVP flooring used upstairs was carried through to the downstairs, and new paint and trim were used. The staircase was opened up to bring the upper and lower spaces together, also allowing more natural light into the basement.
For the home’s exterior, the original California redwood siding was reused, due to its durability and look. Benjamin Moore Regent Green was added and the roofline was extended to build out the front porch with tongue and groove soffit. New Marvin Integrity windows were used throughout the home, and a Thermatru fiberglass door system was used for the front door. The original carport was retained to keep the mid-mod design. A new back porch was added with a pergola and outdoor entertainment center.
